Seed Plugs

An effective method for quickly moving cotton seed is to pneumatically convey it.  Seed Plugs are typically installed on the end of a single screw conveyor running beneath the gin stands.  The seed are fed into the open end of a tube and built up to form a plug that creates and air seal between the screw conveyor and the conveying air stream.  Cotton seed falls from the end of the seed plug and down into the air stream as new seed is fed into the Seed Plug.
